A message from Natasha
Greetings from the rainy English coast…
I hope you all had a brilliant 2009 and saw the new year in with true style!
I have almost found my way back down to earth after my year under the glow of Two Suns…and what a year it was. I want to thank all of you so much for your support in coming to gigs and buying the record. It was so wonderful to be able to play and make music that came from the heart. I especially enjoyed giving cuddles in my big furry coats to the fans who waited outside in the freezing cold after the shows. Seeing glittery faces smiling and dancing in the crowd! Those moments got me through some tough days away from home.
Dueting with Pearl on the last UK tour, playing Latitude and meeting a real life wolf were also highlights of mine.
Now its January, and i have almost finished putting together a tiny studio in my house so that I can prepare for the new sounds that are starting to hum at me before night falls…little bats flitting in the dark. Good job its tiny cause they can be pretty hard to catch! AHH!
I’d like to say Im very flattered that Two Suns was nominated for a Mercury award and amazed that I’ve been nominated for a Brit award! How funny its going to be hanging out with all the big wigs again! Last time i took my brother as my date, he pinched Kylie’s bum at the after show party…I drowned laughing in a mass of champagne bubbles!
Finally, Im really looking forward to meeting those of you that are coming to the South American Coldplay dates in February. Sarah Jones is doing great things with her New Young Ponies this year and sadly can’t make it, but we have an ace new drummer named Valentina who will be stepping in so you can dance and shake your booties in the heat with us!

Natasha, i am a true fan! I simply adore you, i recommend you to everybody. i play your music daily. I loved Fur and Gold, and I’m in love with Two Suns. i also love your documentary Two + Two. it’s the absolute best. other than Bjork, you are one of my favorite artist! I can’t wait for you to get that studio so you can start making more glorious music. My favorite songs are Wilderness and Horrorshow. yes i loved your Black & White Skins Volume 1 little demo thing as well. Keep up the awesome good work!

Dear Natasha,
thank you so much for the kind lines! One thing that highlited my 2009 was chasing you bats around Europe. And it really wasn’t easy at all, till I finally found myself at your last show in Paris! My sandpit friend Kerstin and I had already bought tickets for the show in Hamburg in spring, which had to be cancelled. So patiently we awaited your return to Germany in autumn in the “Uebel und Gefährlich”, until the day had come! When we met in Hamburg, Kerstin was very disturbed, cause someone had burgled her apartment right that morning but somehow, she found her way back to sanity while we were looking forward for your show. Since it took so long, till you finally entered the stage, we entertained ourselves taking pictures at the black and white photo machine. But it got later… and we really got nervous while only flies but no bats were orbiting our drinks. And then you came. It was so explosive! We were totally blown away. And then we had to leave to catch the last train. We almost made it TWO songs. And we were totally frustrated. A look at your page made the second sun appear at least for me at this desert’s wide skies. I had planned to accompany a friend of mine to an exhibition in the Grand Palais in Paris in November. I could convince him that we really had to buy tickets for the Festival Les Inrocks. We did so and I was totally glowing by the power and the atmosphere you created on stage until YOU left. See you next time in Hamburg!!!

A really powerful video, that’s so haunting and simple. In an age of photoshopped distortions that have converted the mundane into surrealism, this shows how the simpler things can stand out and be more powerful.
BTW…what are you coming to Canada?

i feel quite gutted now, i wasn’t allowed to wait after your october glasgow gig, you are lucky people! my favourite song in the world is tahiti, but two suns is also amazing, thankyou for eveything it has done

After a lifetime of music i must say that I am pretty jaded, However I have been playing Two Suns to death it is hauntingly familiar but so refreshingly new just loving it! loved the previous album too by the way!
